Arsenal legend Ian Wrightwishedthat he played with Cesc Fabregas and Robert Pires at the club. The ex-Arsenal striker stated this on the Wrighty’sHouse Podcast earlier this week as he described Cesc Fabregas as one of the best players he has ever seen.
Wright played with some of the best players in the Premier League during his time at Arsenal. He played alongside the likes of Dennis Bergkamp, Marc Overmars, Paul Merson and many more. According to him, he was lucky to play with Dutchman Bergampand that the two players he would have loved to play with at Arsenal are Frenchman Pires and Spanish international midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
Arsenal man Ian Wright said that he adore both Pires and Fabregas.
French World Cup winner Pires was a key player in the Arsenal team that went through the season without losing a game. Fabregas was at Arsenal during the unbeaten season, but he was not involved with the first team.
Legendary Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger played a big role in getting Fabregas to leave boyhood club Barcelona for North London in 2003. The Spaniard came to Arsenal as a teenager and he didn’t waste much time to make his mark in the first team.
Wenger introduced Fabregas to first team football at Arsenal as a teenager and one year after his transfer from the famed La Masia Academy at Barcelona. In his debut season with the Arsenal first team, Fabregas won the FA Cup title via the penalty shootout win over rivals Manchester United in the final.
Also, Fabregas played a major role in getting Arsenal to the 2006 Champions League final before they were beaten by Spanish giants Barcelona. The Gunners lost 2-1 in that final in Paris despite taking the lead and playing the majority of the game with ten men.
